Modern Mailhosting Technology
The PowerMail system is a modern, advanced and high performance mail storage
and distribution tool. It is a complete solution for receiving email and
allowing users to retrieve it from their mailboxes.
It is written from scratch and conforms to all relevant SMTP
standards documents.
Two notable deployments are our own Express service and the DOT.TK setup. Both are powered by the
PowerDNS Mailhosting technology.
Flexible Userbase Architecture
User information (passwords, quotas, mailforwarding) can be retrieved from
many sources. Custom userbases can also be written to mate PowerMail with
existing customer information directories (LDAP, /etc/passwd, NIS, MySQL
etc).
The following backends are currently available and included in the release:
Database - The database backends talk directly to a database to
answers retrieve user data. Backends for MySQL and PostgreSQL are included.
Text - Information can also be stored in a simple text file with
a powerful syntax
